Flowering Apricot (prunus mume)
Native to China and Korea and long known in Japan where it is highly valued. Prunus Mume produces beautiful, delicate flowers over many weeks in late winter and early spring when we need them most. The flowers are white and pink and have a rich spicy sweet fragrance. Prunus Mume blooms on the previous years wood, the buds being set during the growing season of the year before, so be careful when pruning not to remove all the flower buds. |
